Title: Software Verification Engineer

Location: Derby (Hybrid - 3 days work from home)

Seniority: Mid-level (5 years of experience)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of world-class aerospace engines by ensuring the verification of safety-critical software for advanced engine control systems.
  • Perform High-Level and Low-Level Requirement Testing for engine control systems.
  • Apply LDRA toolsets to verify safety-critical software against DO-178C standards.
  • Work closely with design and systems engineers to maintain requirements traceability.
  • Create, execute, and document verification test cases to support certification.
  • Analyse verification results, ensuring compliance with civil aerospace regulations.
  • Contribute to process improvements in software verification and validation.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of professional experience with LDRA software verification tools.
  • Strong knowledge of DO-178C and safety-critical aerospace standards.
  • Background in engine control systems and software.
  • Aerospace industry experience, ideally within civil aerospace engines.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Familiarity with model-based design verification (MATLAB/Simulink).
