We are currently recruiting a solicitor, barrister, or FILEX to join our busy, friendly, and highly motivated Adult Social Care legal team.The main purpose of the role will be to provide legal advice and representation to Adult Social Care and to advise on Care Act 2014 duties, COP, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Ordinary Residence and Direct Payments. A knowledge of Education and SEND law is desirable.The successful candidates will be expected to hold their own case load and to conduct advocacy when_required.12 months post qualification experience in Adult Social Care law is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team, an ability to think on their feet and must have excellent communication skills.About YouThe successful applicant will manage a broad case load of Adult Social Care legal work both within and outside of the court arena. We are looking for a lawyer who is an excellent communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a professional team, with excellent client care skills. The successful candidate must be able to manage a full case load of Adult Social Care matters and to deal with conflicting priorities to deadlines.A knowledge of Education and SEND law is desirable.This role is expected to have an \"occasional\" office working status, with the expectation of a physical presence on site in Shropshire for a small number of days each month. In addition, the successful candidate will need to travel to meetings within the county and to court centres across the west midlands and occasionally beyond.BenefitsGenerous annual leave commencing at 28 days increasing with service to 33 days (pro rata for part time).
