DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint an Experienced Paralegal/ Lawyer to join our Chronic Pain team. The team works with over 40 insurance companies and self-insured corporates, tackling litigation and tracking and analysing behaviours and trends to provide bespoke strategies and analysis.

What you will do:

  • Provide assistance to lawyers in running Chronic Pain files of high value and importance.
  • Assume responsibility for agreed tasks on a claim, including:
    • assisting with investigations
    • handling disclosure
    • obtaining and reviewing medical records
    • obtaining details of suitable experts and their waiting lists
    • preparing bundles for experts and counsel
    • registering and updating CRU
  • Ensure appropriate key dates reminders are in place on all matters.
  • Ensure a timetable exists to enable the progression of the case to resolution.
  • Prompt the principal lawyers to action matters diarised.
  • Record timely and accurate management information and maintain management documents.
  • Develop technical knowledge through completing online courses, attending training sessions and reading appropriate publications.
  • Handle routine correspondence and communications with the client, third parties and claimants’ solicitors.

Who you are:

  • The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in working on complex and catastrophic injury claims.
  • A knowledge of Chronic Pain is desirable.
  • Previous experience of dealing with litigated bodily injury claims.
  • Good commercial awareness with an ability to provide commercially rounded advice to clients.
  • A flexible attitude with an ability to adapt to rapid change.
  • The ability to work as a team player with a collegiate approach to knowledge sharing and problem solving.
