Main Responsibilities

• Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Proactive and commercial case management and progression.
• Supporting the Team Leader to deliver the team’s financial performance KPIs.
• Accurate time recording.
• Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team.
• Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team.
• Co‑ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties.
• Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction.
• Negotiating settlement and issuing and servicing proceedings, when required.
• Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
• Advising the team on technical issues arising from the engagement.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Recent experience handling a caseload.
• 8+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
• Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
• Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
• Flexible and willing to meet deadlines and achieve results.
• Excellent client‑care skills.
