Solicitor Grade B (or Equivalent) – Clinical Negligence – Liverpool. Location: Liverpool/Hybrid (hybrid working available – work from home and in-office as needed). This is a clinical negligence solicitor role in a dynamic and supportive team with a strong reputation in clinical negligence and specialty accreditation. The role involves independently managing a variety of clinical negligence cases with a proactive, client-focused and commercially aware approach.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for running an individual caseload.
- Provide support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
- Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
- Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
- Accurate and thorough time recording.
- Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
- Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.
- Collaborate to ensure relevant information is collected to progress cases.
- Proactively manage caseload in a commercial manner.
- Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties.
- Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction.
- Negotiate settlements and issue/serve proceedings as required; litigate claims when needed.
- Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team; advise on technical issues with support from leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
- Recent experience handling a caseload in Clinical Negligence.
- 5+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, ProClaim and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness within a legal environment.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior team members; flexible and results-driven.
- Excellent client care skills.
