Responsibilities

• Accountable for running an individual caseload.
• Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
• Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
• Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
• Effective and thorough time recording.
• Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
• Identify and drive cases which are ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.
• Work with the team to ensure relevant information is collected to enable case progression.
• Proactive management of a caseload in a commercial manner.
• Coordinate the progression of cases with internal and external parties.
• Drafting of legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction.
• Negotiate settlements and issue and service of proceedings as required.
• Litigation of claims as required.
• Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
• Advise the team on technical issues arising from their cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department.

Ideal Candidate

• Recent experience handling a caseload.
• 5+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
• Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
• Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and deadlines.
• Excellent client care skills.
