Responsibilities

  • Accountable for running an individual caseload.
  • Provide support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
  • Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
  • Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team\'s financial and performance KPIs.
  • Engage in effective and thorough time recording.
  • Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
  • Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.
  • Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties; manage caseload proactively and commercially.
  • Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction; negotiate settlement and issue/provide service of proceedings if required.
  • Litigation of claims as required; oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team; advise on technical issues with support from senior staff.

Qualifications / Ideal Candidate

  • Recent experience of handling a caseload.
  • 5 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, Proclaim, and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent client care skills.
