Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade B - Southport)

Join our Clinical Negligence Team as a Grade B Solicitor (or Equivalent). We seek an experienced clinical negligence solicitor ready to take the next step in your career. You will independently manage a variety of clinical negligence cases, ensuring a proactive, client‑focused, commercially aware approach.

Responsibilities

  • Run an individual caseload.
  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
  • Contribute to proactive and commercial case management across the team.
  • Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of financial and performance KPIs.
  • Effective time recording.
  • Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and members of the team.
  • Identify and drive cases ready for settlement, LOC and service.
  • Co‑ordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties.
  • Draft legal documentation – LOC, letters of instruction.
  • Negotiate settlement and issue and service proceedings if required.
  • Litigate claims as required.
  • Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
  • Advise the team on technical issues arising from their cases.

Qualifications

  • 5 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in clinical negligence.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel.
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Flexible and willing to achieve results and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client care skills.
