Are you looking for a role where you will be intellectually challenged, yet treated with respect? In our Regulatory SHE team you will work with clients facing criminal investigations for corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter and breaches of regulatory law related to health and safety, fire safety, food safety and environmental law. We also provide advice on product safety, inquests and public inquiries. Over 30 specialist lawyers support our national team and we are expanding due to client demand.
Responsibilities
Work on a busy and varied caseload covering contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues.
Act as a primary client point of contact, adhering to client protocols and demonstrating commensurate knowledge and skill.
Assist in business development, including the preparation and delivery of pitches, presentations and training events.
Maintain sound file management – ensuring compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols, accurate billing and credit control, WIP management, file closures and Management Information updates.
Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on your caseload, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of management reporting.
Maintain an understanding of other practice areas and actively network internally.
Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training, publications and by exceeding Law Society CPD requirements.
Qualifications
At least 2 years PQE with experience in a regulatory or commercially focused environment.
Experience advising on regulatory work (HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquests). Beneficial to have experience in environmental breaches, trading standards, product safety, food safety and fire safety, though other relevant experience is considered.
Experience in business development and building client relationships.
Willingness to travel on short notice; a driving licence is preferable.
Excellent legal drafting, analytical and technical skills.
Ability to exceed budgetary requirements in time and fee income.
