Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Solution Architect to join our high‑performing team. This position combines solution architecture leadership, mission‑critical system delivery, AI‑native solution development, and sole operational accountability for a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) application.

The successful candidate will lead fast‑paced, high‑impact projects, manage a large cross‑functional team—including senior technical leads and technical architects—and ensure continuous service availability, governance, and security compliance.

We’re looking for a Solution Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery for multiple concurrent enterprise projects, including AI‑native solutions, automation, and mission‑critical applications. The architect will also prepare detailed solution designs and High‑Level Designs (HLDs), ensuring clear separation of architectural planning from integration activities and collaborating with business teams, other application teams, and integration platform teams as needed.

Location: Warwick, UK (hybrid basis: 2 days a week in office)

Security Requirement: Must hold or be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with security architecture, security assurance, integration architecture, Enterprise Architecture, and Solution Design Authority / Architecture Review Board to achieve approvals.
• Lead a 10‑member application maintenance and enhancement team, ensuring all documentation is current and acting as Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for application management.
• Lead and mentor a 40‑member cross‑functional team, including 5 Technical Leads and 2 Technical Architects, emphasizing senior technical leadership across multiple domains.
• Implement architecture best practices to design cost‑effective solutions with optimal reliability and availability, while minimising total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Oversee platform lifecycle governance, ensuring platforms remain current, secure, and fully up‑to‑date.
• Oversee change governance for the application support team, reviewing and approving or rejecting vendor‑submitted change tickets before they reach the client change management team.
• Maintain 24×7 availability and adherence to SC‑level security standards.
• Lead monthly Service Review Meetings and prepare decks showing KPIs, SLA adherence, incident trends, improvement actions, and audit compliance status.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with Microsoft Stack: Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), PowerShell scripting, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
• Experience with Operations & Governance: ITIL‑aligned incident, problem, change, and release management; platform lifecycle oversight; security governance; audit compliance
• Strategic and hands‑on across architecture, AI‑native solution design, and sole CNI application operations responsibility.
• Proven ability to deliver fast‑paced, high‑impact projects across multiple technology domains.
• Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and service review leadership.
• Skilled in integrating custom AI solutions securely and reliably into enterprise systems.
• Leadership experience across multi‑disciplinary, high‑performing teams, including senior technical leaders.
• Strong expertise in audit compliance, security gap remediation, and ensuring irreplaceable operational leadership.
