Overview

As a Solutions Architect at Ascom, you will play a critical role at the intersection of Sales and Professional Services, supporting our mission to improve patient care through innovative technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, especially Sales to assess customer needs and design tailored solutions that deliver measurable value for our customers.

Opportunities and Responsibilities

  • Assess customers’ clinical, business, and technical requirements to develop fit-for-purpose solution architectures
  • Collaborate with Sales to articulate and gain support for proposed solutions and associated services
  • Proactively recommend value-added services that enhance the customer offering, including implementation, workflow consultancy, education, and ongoing support
  • Position Ascom’s solutions across the entire portfolio, tailoring recommendations to specific customer strategies and environments
  • Serve as a key link between Product Marketing and Sales to ensure alignment in customer value delivery
  • Capture and relay market feedback to product development to influence future innovations
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and sales colleagues to ensure high-quality, sustainable solution design
  • Coordinate with procurement regarding third-party product integration and contracting as needed
  • Support seamless transition from sales to delivery by engaging Ascom’s Professional Services team early in the process
  • Introduce and support Project Managers during delivery to ensure consistent, high-quality execution
  • Assist in evaluating project outcomes, including profitability and effectiveness of scope and delivery
  • Participate in post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement in service and solution design
  • Support Sales with all activities including meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions and quote generation as required

Skills And Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in operational healthcare environments is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and have a strong social presence with team interaction
  • Strong network knowledge (understanding of IP networks and WiFi highly desirable, any certifications such as CCNA or CWNA would be desirable)
  • Knowledge of servers, virtualization and cloud would be desirable
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, installation practices, and applicable standards (e.g., BS EN 50173, TIA/EIA standards) highly desirable
  • Understanding of Electrical Installations and/or Electronic Engineering (e.g., BS 7671 standards) highly desirable
  • Knowledge or hands on experience with NEC contracts (e.g., NEC3/NEC4) highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Ascom products and solutions would be highly desirable

Qualifications And Experience

  • A recognised engineering or technical qualification
  • 2–5 years of experience in healthcare technology sales, clinical professional services, or network infrastructure environments
  • Hands-on experience in customer-facing roles, ideally within medical or clinical technology contexts
  • Familiarity with Nurse Call systems and workflows in healthcare settings is highly advantageous
  • Proven success working cross-functionally in fast-paced, customer-focused environments
