  • Decide when to build versus buy, optimizing existing technologies while shaping future architecture.
  • Build strong business-to-technical relationships and translate opportunities into clear technical requirements.
  • Work with third-party vendors and suppliers to maximize the impact of partnerships on design outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business and tech leads to ensure architecture is secure, compliant, effective, and cost-efficient.
  • Monitor emerging data innovations and identify opportunities to embed them into AO projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert consulting across AO's business and tech teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Data Solutions Architect in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Ability to gather requirements, translate them into smart, scalable data designs, and align designs with AO's wider business, tech, and data strategies.
  • Proven track record of managing buy-vs-build decisions and designing data platforms that support data science, engineering, platform, and analytics teams.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with vendors, business analysts, and technical leads to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Experience in establishing data standards, modelling principles, and vendor management.

Benefits

  • Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays (increasing to 27 days after 2 years).
  • Pension: Company contributes 5% of annual salary; you contribute 5%.
  • Be a VIP at the AO Arena with opportunities for tickets and pre-sale access.
