Job Title: Solutions Architect

Location: London – Hybrid

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a leading sporting governing body as a Solutions Architect. This role will play a key part in shaping and delivering technology solutions that improve digital experiences for volunteers, players, fans, and attendees, while supporting the organisation’s wider strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to scope, model, and understand business problems and opportunities.
  • Produce practical architecture outputs, including models, diagrams, and documentation, to support solution delivery.
  • Design solutions that are traceable to requirements, proportionate to business needs, and implementable by delivery teams.
  • Govern solution implementation, ensuring alignment to design and challenging suppliers where required.
  • Contribute to best practice by creating templates, patterns, and standardised ways of working.
  • Collaborate closely across teams to ensure solutions are aligned and avoid silos.
  • Guide technology through approval and governance processes, including providing inputs to Technical Design Authority.
  • Act as the technical authority in areas such as microservices, integration patterns, and API design.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as unified customer experiences, learning pathways, and extended SSO across platforms.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and propose recommendations for continual improvement.

Requirements – Who are we looking for?

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in Solutions Architecture.
  • Background in architecting solutions for a cloud-native environment.
  • Proven experience integrating SaaS applications.
  • Knowledge and experience of IAM and customer-facing SSO.
  • Strong expertise in API definition, management, and security.
  • Understanding of role/attribute-based security within microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Collaborative approach, able to build strong relationships across functions.
  • Commitment to inclusivity and to working in line with organisational values.
  • Experience creating unified “ecosystem” user experiences across multiple customer platforms.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
  • Understanding of application security, cloud technologies, and access control.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda or equivalent serverless solutions.
  • Knowledge of GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience implementing CRM systems.
  • Experience with Auth0.
