POWWR are looking for a Solutions Architect who can help drive the next phase of our Unified Platform — a scalable, secure, and event-driven SaaS ecosystem. This role goes beyond application design: it’s about shaping solutions that span multiple systems, deliver measurable business outcomes, and position POWWR for growth in the era of AI-powered SaaS.

POWWR provides advanced platforms and simple solutions for over 65 energy suppliers and more than 1,400 brokers across the United States and the United Kingdom. We empower suppliers and brokers to grow their businesses and create a transparent, connected journey. The company was previously known as UD Group in the United Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that align with the Unified Platform strategy.
• Define and maintain the technology roadmap, ensuring business priorities are enabled through sound architectural choices.
• Leverage Azure expertise to design cloud-native architectures, bridging gaps between architecture, DevOps, and engineering.
• Ensure cloud adoption is unified, secure, and cost-optimised.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate where they deliver strategic advantage.
• Shape architectural patterns that support AI-enabled solutions, making AI a first-class concern within the platform.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate innovation in practice.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure solutions meet real-world needs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Act as a trusted liaison between architecture and delivery teams.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure solutions align with industry standards, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Conduct architecture reviews to validate alignment with both business and technical goals.

What we’re looking for

You will bring deep Azure cloud expertise, proven experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) at scale, and the ability to lead technical strategy across distributed teams. This is a high-impact role where your decisions will directly influence how our platforms integrate, scale, and evolve.

• 8+ years in Solutions Architecture or a senior technical leadership role (exceptional candidates with 6+ years considered if they demonstrate hands-on EDA and Azure expertise).
• Proven experience designing and rolling out Event-Driven Architectures (Kafka or equivalent).
• Strong background in Azure cloud services and cloud-native solution design.
• Expertise in API design and management (REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI).
• Skilled in microservices/micro-frontends architectures and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation practices.
• Familiarity with AI/ML solution integration or strong motivation to develop in this area.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to influence across technical and business teams.
