PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Solutions Team Lead (Cyber Security & Networking) is responsible for leading a team of solutions specialists, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence. This role is instrumental in aligning the team's objectives with the broader business goals, thereby contributing to the overall success and competitive edge of Bytes Software Services.

In addition to team leadership, the Solutions Team Lead actively engages with key customers, building and maintaining strong relationships to understand their unique challenges and requirements. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to drive the growth of key business metrics within the specific customer segment. By staying abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cyber security, the Solutions Team Lead ensures that the team remains at the forefront of industry best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership. Oversee and mentor a team of solutions specialists, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Team Pathway. Support high-quality talent acquisition and management, including succession planning, and individual Personal Development Plans that align to company KPIs and objectives.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution. With the support of the Solutions Manager, develop and implement strategic team plans to drive the growth of key business metrics within the specific sub-proposition or customer segment. Align team objectives with overall business goals and ensure effective execution.
  • Sales Execution. Leveraging the tools and resources you have available, proactively uncover, develop and drive net new or cross-sale opportunities to close. Ensure full visibility and tracking of opportunities and engagements across the team within CRM.
  • Sales/Financial Performance Management. Deliver and go beyond individual financial targets and KPI’s that the business establishes, in a productive and profitable way. Ensure team members meet expectations and key metrics, and provide performance visibility to the Solutions Manager.
  • Customer Sales. Lead by example to proactively uncover, develop & lead opportunities alongside the Bytes Account Manager. The focus is on driving net new opportunities via upsell & cross sell into existing accounts and targeting net new customers to Bytes. Support team members on their customer plans and indirectly on customer opportunities (where needed).
  • Sub-Proposition Development (If appropriate to role). Work collaboratively and consultatively with Vendor Alliances Team, Sales, customers, vendors, and partners, to build appropriate sub-proposition and/or Segment solutions that enhance the main proposition area and that can support other areas across the business. Ensuring all key management roles are consulted throughout.
  • Sales Enablement. Develop consistent sales enablement plans, which align with the overall proposition and marketing strategy. Work strategically with Bytes Sales Managers and Divisional Directors to build sales enablement plans on the sub-proposition and/or Segment area, ensuring the messaging aligns with the overall proposition and marketing strategy.
  • Relationship Management. Establish and sustain strong relationships with the sales teams of Bytes and vendors sales teams to optimise sales execution and performance. Ensure team members have consistent face time with their aligned sales teams and they are working with Sales Managers, Solutions Managers and Divisional Directors to review performance.
  • Marketing Strategy Support. Actively support the overall proposition marketing plan and generate new ideas which will continue maximise how we reach our customers.
  • Market Research. Stay informed about the competitive landscape, market trends and customer demands within the Sub-Proposition, Segment, and main Proposition to constantly look to innovate. Ensure the team has a deep understanding of the offerings to effectively communicate internally and externally.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bytes Values: Champion the importance and influence that Bytes values have in the development of a successful, responsible, and ethical business.
  • Team Leadership & Development. Set direction for the team and provide oversight relating to resource planning, and skills development. Coach team members through growth mindset, challenge individuals to maximise their full potential and drive innovation.
  • Sales/Financial Performance Management. Collaborate with Solutions Manager to set valuable performance targets for team members. Review the data sets available, adjust where necessary, and provide consistent updates both up channel and to the team, to ensure targets are met or exceeded. Encourage use of Bytes systems (CRM, SmartInfo, Compass, Teams, etc.). conduct regular deal desk clinics to oversee pipeline management and promote deal learning.
  • Personal Performance Management. Understand the personal goals and aspirations of everyone within the team and actively support career progression. Ensure OKRs and Personal Development Plans are in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Customer Sales. Be a customer-facing resource for our clients and an indirect customer resource for team members. Lead by example to demonstrate Bytes wider portfolio outside of the main sub-proposition.
  • Sub-Proposition Development. Maintain knowledge of key vendors, partners, services, customer challenges, use cases, trends & direct reseller competition within sub-proposition to ensure Bytes focuses on the right areas and stays innovative. Collaborate with Solutions Manager and Head of Function to ensure consistent communication of any changes.
  • Marketing. Contribute to the main proposition plan with ideas, market research, vendor focus areas, emerging trends and key updates that require a quick marketing response. Promote the Bytes brand via internal and external content (blogs, podcasts, socials, thought leadership keynotes, etc.).
  • Vendor/ Partner Management. Develop, maintain and nurture key senior relationships within our vendor and partner community.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE Level with an A-C Grade in Maths and English
  • Minimum A-Levels (A-C) English, Mathematics, and technology related subject
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology or business management
