Overview


We have an immediate contract vacancy for a Sourcing Manager to work for our central London based renewable energy client. The Sourcing Manager will be part of the team working with our client’s supply chain to deliver procurement strategies, set up processes and workflows aligned with UK procurement and market dynamics, establish the supply chain, and lead scoping and procurement exercises to enable project delivery and agreements with external suppliers. This role requires weekly presence in the client’s central London office (approximately 2 to 3 days per week).


Responsibilities



  • Purchase services and materials, considering cost-efficiency, timely provision and required quality.

  • Tendering and negotiation of business needs in multiple categories (materials/services) based on purchase requisitions’ specifications.

  • Manage internal approvals and governance.

  • Drive preparation and approval of tender documentation.

  • Lead communication with tenderers during the sourcing phase.

  • Lead internal activities with Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, Social Responsibility, Insurance, Legal and QHSE departments.

  • Manage and maintain supplier documentation.

  • Coordinate supplier selection based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

  • Liaise with requesters to drive spend through preferred suppliers or existing Framework agreements.

  • Ensure competition and safeguard corporate interests, adhering to compliance and corporate guidelines.

  • Contract controlling and clarification of contract and service disruptions.

  • Work closely with colleagues to choose best options for goods and services while adding value and bringing savings to the company.


Tasks



  • Preparation, collation and maintenance of all tender and contractual documentation.

  • Manage pre-qualification of suppliers.

  • Prepare commercial documents for the tender package, and have the documents peer checked/approved, as required by company governance.

  • Work with project teams as procurement lead to develop well defined scope of work and services for incorporation into project and contract documents.

  • Clarify/evaluate commercial sections of the tender package. Participate in the provision of price forecasts for budget planning.

  • Negotiating contracts in collaboration with the Project Manager (and if required the Legal team).

  • Lead clarification meetings, commercial negotiations and shortlist/recommend preferred tender/contract award.


Qualification / Requirements



  • Strategic thinker, effective communicator at senior level of the organization with superior interpersonal skills, proven commercial mindset and an excellent ability to build networks.

  • Ideally degree qualified in relevant technical or commercial education.

  • Experience with various types of procurement (Capex, Devex, Opex) in Energy Infrastructure or Construction.

  • Recommended >7 years of relevant experience within procurement and/or contract management preferably in construction, engineering consultancy, M & E, energy or similar complex industries.

  • Recommended experience with Category sourcing structure regarding Heat Distribution, construction or similar.

  • Recommended familiarity with common construction contract forms and risk positions JCT, Fidic etc

  • Strong analytic skills and profound commercial interest

  • Lead change management and drive change in an organisation
