Support the Kroger Company’s space management (KOMPASS) process with technical solutions to drive efficiency and programming objectives. Using JavaScript programming, assist in constructing optimized merchandising plans that meet category needs and develop “Customer 1st” shelf strategies to enhance the shopping experience. Collaborate with and support Merchandising Execution, Category Management, and PCOE teams to provide a more streamlined experience for optimizing planograms.
- This hybrid position will be required to work in our Corporate Office at least 2 days per week based on your team’s schedule.
- Collaborate with Kroger and PL Marketing merchandising teams to refine requirements for given projects.
- Ability to learn and understand Kroger’s space planning platform and how various systems and data relate and interact.
- Troubleshoot technical and functional issues that arise for the team.
- Develop expertise in planogram automation techniques to support Kroger objectives; collaborate with PCOE, Category Management, and Merchandising Execution to gain adoption.
- Test new applications, features, and reporting prior to implementation. Give input on prioritization and support the communication and training of features as needed.
- Support PCOE teams through all aspects of the KOMPASS process through automation, reporting, QA, etc.
- Professionally and effectively represent both P.L. Marketing and peers with Kroger, contractors, and suppliers.

Essential Job Functions
- This hybrid position will be required to work in our Corporate Office at least 2 days per week based on your team’s schedule.
- Create and maintain JavaScript programs in Kroger’s space planning automation platform.
- Collaborate with Kroger and PL Marketing merchandising teams to refine requirements for given projects.
- Ability to learn and understand Kroger’s space planning platform and how various systems and data relate and interact.
- Troubleshoot technical and functional issues that arise for the team.
- Learn additional programming languages as needed to support reporting needs. (e.g. SQL, Python, JavaScript, Perl, etc.)
- Develop expertise in planogram automation techniques to support Kroger objectives; collaborate with PCOE, Category Management, and Merchandising Execution to gain adoption.
- Test new applications, features, and reporting prior to implementation. Give input on prioritization and support the communication and training of features as needed.
- Support PCOE teams through all aspects of the KOMPASS process through automation, reporting, QA, etc.
- Professionally and effectively represent both P.L. Marketing and peers with Kroger, contractors, and suppliers.
Minimum Position Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other Business disciplines preferred
- Minimum 1 year of JavaScript experience
- Reporting and SQL database experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/365 Applications with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Capacity to learn multiple computer systems and web-based applications
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into a deliverable solution
- Experience communicating deliverables both in person and through written communication
- Proven ability to adapt to advancing technology and computer solutions
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive and productive business relationships with users and team members
- Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
- Experience generating detailed reports and delivering a summary of your findings in both spreadsheet and presentation form
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task
- Must be able to:
- Remain standing/sitting for several hours at a time
- Lift 10-30 lbs. occasionally
