Our Special Situations M&A team helps companies preserve value, reduce risk and address business change through M&A transactions — often in situations of complexity, sensitivity or corporate stress. Our work spans the breadth of accelerated M&A, corporate divestment and other bespoke transactions.

We have seen significant growth in client demand for these services and are looking to grow the team as a result. As a Senior Manager, you’ll be taking day-to-day ownership of transactions, leading deal teams which typically comprise 3 - 5 people. With the support of Partners and Directors, you’ll be taking ownership of the entire deal process from shaping the strategy, interfacing with senior stakeholders at the client, producing deliverables, negotiating with prospective buyers and reviewing transactional documentation.

We operate as a single national practice, with team members in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • Lead transactions on a day-to-day basis through co-ordinating the work of junior staff, interacting with clients and prospective bidders.
  • Input towards and review client deliverables, such as the preparation of pitch documents, client marketing materials, analysis of financial information and bidder update documents.
  • Contribute to winning new work by supporting senior team members identify and navigate new opportunities, deliver client pitches and proactively follow-up on leads.
  • Work closely with other advisors (such as lawyers, due diligence providers, etc.) to review deal documents, including providing commercial input on transactional terms.
  • Provide commercial advice to our clients and assist them negotiate transactions - often in time-sensitive, and value-critical circumstances.
  • Guide, supervise, and develop junior team members, providing in-the-moment coaching and training to supplement their formal development.

This Role Is For You If You Have

  • Significant experience in M&A, special situations, restructuring, corporate valuations or related corporate finance work (deal experience preferred but not essential).
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with confident understanding of financial information and the ability to navigate areas of complexity and uncertainty.
  • Ability to lead teams that can work independently while balancing multiple priorities and delivering consistently high-quality outputs.
  • Proven experience in project management of deals, with a track record of coaching and developing junior colleagues.
  • Established stakeholder management skills, including influencing in sensitive situations with senior business leaders such as client management teams and buyers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present clearly and persuasively.
