Specialist Neurorehabilitation Dietitian

Overview The role will provide a dietetics service for patients undergoing neurorehabilitation, providing specialist nutrition support to patients recovering from neurological conditions. This will be an opportunity to work autonomously to develop the dietetic service within this specialty. The role will also provide cover to the neurosciences and trauma wards, including patients under neurology, neurotrauma, neurosurgery and trauma services. There is also an opportunity to contribute to teaching and training for a variety of staff within the Trust. Flexibility and strong organisational and communication skills are essential. Responsibilities
Provide an evidence-based, effective and responsive dietetic service to the 8-bed neurorehabilitation service that provides Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR). Provide cover across the neurosciences (including neurology, neurotrauma and neurosurgery) and trauma wards; work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT). Attend and contribute to ward rounds, board rounds and MDT meetings. Independently manage home enteral feeding discharges, liaising with all relevant specialist services to achieve timely completion. Plan and deliver specialist training to medical staff, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals. Ensure that audit and quality improvement is undertaken on a regular basis.
