The post is for 37.5 hours a week, all year round, and will based in the of community sites in Stoke Mandeville, High Wycombe or Amersham. The post holder will deliver clinical care, supervision and training across the county so they will be required to have a flexible approach to travel. We additionally have bases in Buckingham, Thame, Chalfont's and Gerrards Cross Hospitals so would expect you to travel between sites.

The Specialist Nurse for Children’s Healthy Bladder and Bowels will work as a key member of the 0-19 Public Health Nursing (PHN) Team and wider Organisational Department. The post holder will be an experienced and strong advocate for children, young people and families and will take the lead for the Specialist Children Bladder and Bowel Project providing clinical care and leadership.
The post holder will develop a collaborative strategic approach with other BHT departments and multi-agency stakeholders to review the impact of the Children’s Healthy Bladder and Bowel Service, on clinical outcomes and improved cost efficiency.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
- NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife inc Adult, Children or Learning Disability Nursing
- Evidence of Leadership training
- Evidence of continuing professional development in Children's continence issues
- Nurse Prescribing Qualification
- Community Practice Educator qualification
- Mentorship experience e.g MSPP/PASS
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SN or HV)
EXPERIENCE
- Significant recent experience of working with CYP who have continence issues.
- Experience of implementing agreed programmes of change
- Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries,
- Experience of successful team working, supervision and appraisal of staff.
- Evidence of undertaking children's continence training and implementing this in practice
- Evidence of producing policy or supporting in the development of relevant children's toileting policy
- Willingness to undertake Nurse Prescriber training
- Knowledge and skills in the transition process from child to adult services
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of NICE Guidelines and best practice recommendations for Children's Continence issues
- Ability to work with staff to achieve performance targets for clinical care
- Ability to prioritise and refocus with competing demands
- High organised with attention to detail
- Exceptional personal insight and ability to reflect on communication styles and implement a range of engagement strategies
- Can confidentially use a range of IT packages and demonstrate ability to learn

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
- Ability to travel to various community sites on a daily basis.
- Ability to carry and manoeuvre light to moderate loads
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
