Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to lead operations within the Specialist Services workstream, delivering projects for major water authorities and process sites. This role will take responsibility for overseeing service delivery from planning through to completion, managing resources, driving performance, and ensuring high standards of quality and compliance. The position also has a strong commercial focus, with accountability for developing new business, managing budgets, and ensuring profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive works.
  • Oversee staffing levels, skills coverage, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring works are delivered on schedule and within cost targets.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, site inspections, and design reviews.
  • Review time records and apply judgment in line with internal guidelines.
  • Lead and develop site labour and office teams, supporting progression and skills growth.
  • Manage subcontractor performance to ensure consistent service standards.
  • Scope and quote for works, pursuing new business opportunities and leveraging existing client relationships.
  • Oversee procurement decisions, invoicing, and workstream profitability.
  • Contribute to wider business strategy and planning.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Knowledge of the water industry.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certification.

Preferred

  • Industry-related NVQ.
  • CSCS card.
  • CAD experience.
