About The Job

The Cloud Managed Services team is looking for a Sr Cloud Project Manager to be responsible for all aspects of our data management systems implementations within SAS Cloud. You will coordinate all aspects of service and delivery offerings on the implementation of SAS solutions. You will be responsible for all aspects of project management: direction, planning and budgeting, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with SAS’ Cloud overall strategy, commitments, and goals.

You will act as a customer liaison and consultant on projects to ensure success throughout the entire customer lifecycle. You will interact with external clients/customers, staff, management, and applicable departments at SAS. You will ensure the delivery of services projects are on track and escalations are acted on. As overall project leader you will align project scope with strategic objectives and make recommendations for necessary strategic adjustments. You will act as the main advisor to the SAS management teams and develop and improve project processes and metrics that enable our internal teams to successfully implement new technologies and solutions.

As a Sr Cloud Project Manager, You Will

  • Demonstrate leadership in delivering SAS solutions and implementations to customers.
  • Own and manage either a single major or portfolio of differing projects across one or more accounts and industry sectors.
  • Define statements of work and project charters, risk and mitigation assessments.
  • Lead and coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management. Plan multiple large and complex projects, agreeing realistic expectations of timeframes, costs, risks, resource requirements and deliverables with the client. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress.
  • Apply the most suitable Project Management methodology for the solution implementation and customer situation. Leverage methodologies, enablers and best practices to accelerate project delivery. Ensure quality assurance is developed for the project.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff while managing resource availability and allocation. Identify and match skills of project team members with the implementation requirements and tasks, including subcontractors if required, and verify that team members understand their assignments. Identify, document and escalate any performance issues and skills deficiencies of project team members to the appropriate management team.
  • Have full ownership of the success of projects, delivering solutions on time, within budget and within customers’ quality and functionality requirements. Communicate and track regularly on the status of project goals by ensuring project results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders through strong governance processes, appropriate expectation management, robust change management principles and clear communication plans. Outline the authority, decision and communications chains to the project team and client.
  • Provide leadership and drive customer success while overcoming barriers and satisfying staff, management and stakeholder commitments. Motivate the team through effective leadership styles.
  • Resolve conflicts between the project and other organizational units in a satisfactory manner, including engaging management as necessary. Design and facilitate internal and external workshops and meetings for optimized outcomes.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing complex software solutions in different companies.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with technical and business approaches and solutions related to business intelligence/analytics/data integration/data warehousing.
  • Strong background in traditional Project Management methodologies and agile methodologies to lead and coach both your team and the customer.
  • Motivation to manage both smaller and large, complex projects.
  • Proven people management skills.
  • Ability to lead project teams, gain consensus and mediate conflict.
  • Superior organizational and decision-making skills with strong stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing projects with distributed teams across nationalities.
  • Experience with Program Management and the ability to integrate knowledge across related business areas.
  • Excellent analysis, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to influence adoption of concepts and strategies.
  • Ability to choose between defined financial, strategic, and tactical options.
  • Knowledge of Project Management practices, procedures, and tools.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, leadership, and communication abilities; ability to manage meetings and issues proactively.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in diverse, virtual, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities across multiple activities and internal/external customers.
  • Ability to travel when necessary and right to work in the UK.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
