Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions, and best practices. As Senior Director in the Business and Technology Insights division, you will create actionable insights for executive leaders in technology firms and services providers on the AI Platforms topic. You will be a trusted source of advice, engaging clients via in-person meetings, virtual sessions, sales support visits and conferences.
What you will do
- Create innovative, thought‑provoking, and highly leveraged research on the topic of AI Platforms.
- Collaborate with peers to create comprehensive research on the broader AI technology stack.
- Develop new research to assist technology and/or services providers succeed in their use of AI technologies in their products or services.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts.
- Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can evolve the course of a research agenda.
- Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights.
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice via virtual or face‑to‑face interactions.
- Create and deliver high‑value presentation materials for Gartner events, conferences and client briefings.
- Provide high‑quality and timely research content peer review.
- Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy.
- Actively participate in innovation, ideation and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience, preferably in a technology or services provider, including recent experience in AI platforms.
- Demonstrable executive presence; ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality deliverables.
- Demonstrable excellence in research and writing ability.
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; ability to apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions.
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Subject matter expertise; ability to present at large and small‑scale speaking engagements.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the AI platform area and ecosystem.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global environment.
- Ability to navigate highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel on occasion, if required.
