Sr. Workday Functional Architect - Compensation, Benefits, Performance

Provide Workday subject‑matter functional expertise for day‑to‑day support and development, including business process configuration, reporting, mass data processing (EIB), testing and troubleshooting. Offer expertise and thought leadership on Workday HCM best practices. Partner with business leaders to understand pain points, prioritise requirements and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency using Workday functionality. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive, documented business requirements for requested changes, enhancements or projects; articulate functional processes from start to finish and provide design guidance. Provide change‑management expertise when rolling out new or improved functionality to maximise adoption and deliver an excellent customer experience. Maintain awareness of Workday future releases/road‑map and anticipate impacts on current and future functionality. Own thorough testing and analysis of new features, participate in release planning, and be accountable for regression, unit, User Acceptance, and pre‑launch testing/sign‑off of new capabilities. Collaborate with internal and external SMEs in the Workday ecosystem to share knowledge, alternative solutions and best practices for a holistic approach. Mentor and guide junior colleagues in configuration, testing and best‑practice adoption. Deliver excellent customer service, responding to inquiries accurately and promptly.
What You’ll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred). 5+ years of Workday functional configuration across three or more HCM modules (e.g., Compensation, Benefits, Performance) supporting a mid‑to‑large business. 3+ years of cross‑functional Workday administration, including security design and business process management. 2+ years of HRIS project management, including analysis, stakeholder engagement and documentation. Proven functional expertise in assigned areas – awareness of Workday’s capabilities and limitations, familiarity with delivered functionality and reports, and experience performing administrative tasks. Experience handling confidential and sensitive information. Functional experience with broad HR practices and program development to understand stakeholder needs across HR functions (preferred). Compliance experience in PII, GDPR, SOX (preferred).
Workday Pro certifications in one or more HCM functional modules (preferred).

Ability to work independently and adapt to change with resilience. Time‑management skills to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
