Overview

Join to apply for the Staff Developer Advocate role at Prisma.

At Prisma, we’re redefining how developers work with databases. If you’re fascinated by the cutting-edge data infrastructure powering companies like Twitter, Airbnb, and Facebook—but want the agility, ownership, and impact of a fast-moving startup—Prisma is the place for you. Our team is backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors and serves a large, active open-source community.

What you would do

As a Staff Developer Advocate, you’ll own outcomes that directly support Prisma’s product growth. You’ll take high-level goals and turn them into strategies, initiatives, and launches that expand Prisma’s reach, grow our community, and accelerate adoption of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Leading launches and campaigns: take responsibility for the communication and messaging of product and feature launches, ensuring they land with clarity, consistency, and impact, meaningfully contributing to product adoption. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to amplify launches across channels.
  • Driving team KPIs: own strategies and initiatives tied to our team’s goals (web visitors, social reach, community growth). Translate company-level objectives into actionable projects with measurable impact.
  • Community Engagement: expand Prisma’s presence across platforms (Twitter, Reddit, Hacker News, LinkedIn, Discord), ensuring Prisma is represented in conversations that matter.
  • Developer Education: ensure developers have resources they need to succeed, from guides and tutorials to cross-tool examples.
  • Product Feedback: ensure feedback loops between developers and Prisma stay active, scalable, and actionable.
  • Mentorship & team enablement: provide guidance to Senior and Junior Developer Advocates, unblocking projects and raising the bar on execution across the company.

Ideal candidate profile

We believe the right candidate should meet a majority of the criteria listed below:

  • Proven experience in Developer Advocacy, Developer Relations, or a related function, with demonstrable impact on growth outcomes (reach, adoption, community size).
  • Experience creating developer-focused content from ideation to publishing (guides, videos, tutorials).
  • Experience leading high-impact launches and campaigns from planning through execution.
  • Deep technical expertise in databases (especially Postgres) with knowledge of related technologies (SQL, cloud platforms, APIs, Node.js, TypeScript).
  • Strong strategic mindset: ability to identify growth opportunities Prisma isn’t yet leveraging and turn them into results.
  • Autonomy: able to explore ambiguous problem spaces, define the solution path, and deliver results without close oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), able to align cross-functional stakeholders and communicate effectively with developers.

The Following Experience Would Also Be a Plus

  • Active participation in open-source communities.
  • Experience building growth playbooks for developer-facing products.
  • Prior involvement in partnerships or integrations that expanded product reach.
