Vacancies have arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurses within the Cardiac Catheter Suite at MFT (Wythenshawe and MRI). If you are motivated and driven and want to be part of a caring, expanding team who are dedicated to delivering high quality care to patients then read through what we have to offer.

The 9 Catheter Labs at MRI and Wythenshawe Hospitals form part of the North West Regional Cardiology service. It is one of the busiest in the country, performing in excess of 5500 procedures a year from Pacemakers to Implantable Defibrillators, Cardiac Ablations and Angioplasty. The two hospital sites are working in unison to develop a single cardiac service across the Trust.

A full comprehensive training package will be provided and a mentor will assist in the individual needs of the successful candidates.

In the Catheter lab we are aware of the need for flexible working. Working patterns are presently Monday to Friday with occasional weekend shifts. On completion of your competency programme, the post holder will be required to undertake some on-calls as part of our 24 hour emergency team.

MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of over £3bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We’re creating an exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.

Bringing together 10 hospitals and community services from across Manchester, Trafford and beyond, we champion collaborative working and transformation, encouraging our 30,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness and driving research and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.

We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
