Main duties
We welcome applications from both experienced Registered Nurses and newly qualified nurses. We can also consider applicants who would only be available for night shifts. There are opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. If newly qualified, you will be supported in a learning environment with a mentor and enrolled in our preceptorship programme to develop your professional skills. For experienced nurses, we support clinical and managerial development and provide access to academic programs to enable greater autonomy and enhanced job satisfaction in a predominantly nurse-led ward.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a community hospital setting.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Manage complex care situations, chronic disease, admission avoidance, and end-of-life care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Qualifications and requirements
Qualifications
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (NMC Registration - RN1, RNA, RNMH or equivalent) with current UK registration.
- Evidence of knowledge learned during training or post qualification.

- Interest in working in a community hospital

Specialist knowledge
Essential:
- Demonstrable skills in risk assessment and management
- Ability to administer medication and treatment within NMC guidelines
Experience
Essential:
- Knowledge and/or experience in General Medical Care, Elderly Care, Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic Care, Social Care, Wound Management
- Ability to support and supervise HSCW and other team members
Desirable:
- Community Hospital experience pre and post registration
Other requirements
Essential:
- Flexibility to meet service needs (e.g., shift work) and participate in hospital cover on a rotation basis
