Staff/Principal Verification Engineer – Video

Arm Systems Media IP team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated verification engineer to develop and refine hardware verification testbenches for future-generation IP across Image Signal Processors, Display Processors, and Video codecs. The role supports automotive, IoT, and client market applications, leveraging Arm’s RTL, reference drivers, tools, and libraries to enable innovative products.

Job Overview

In this role you will specify and develop new hardware verification testbenches for future-generation hardware IP. You will enhance existing testbenches to increase performance, quality, and efficiency. You will identify areas for process and methodology improvement, implementing changes to advance best-practices for hardware verification. Responsibilities

  • Verification ownership of unit-level or multi-unit hierarchy, or lead overall IP verification (ISP, Display, Video).
  • Architecting verification IP and full verification environments.
  • Reviewing and assessing proposed design changes from a verification complexity perspective.
  • Analyzing simulation data using machine learning and data science techniques to drive efficient bug discovery and debug.
  • Identifying cross-Media IP process or methodology improvement opportunities, implementing solutions to advance hardware verification efficiency.
  • Collaborating closely with other Arm engineering teams to ensure high-quality IP integration.
  • Mentoring and supporting other team members.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Experience with constrained-random verification, owning complex verification environments and creating testbenches.
  • Developing reusable, scalable code with deep knowledge of SystemVerilog-UVM.
  • Strong scripting skills to support new and existing flows.
  • Solid software engineering background: object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms.
  • Familiarity with tools and processes for developing testbenches and completing verification.
  • Prior technical and/or team leadership skills for senior positions.

Nice To Have Skills And Experience

  • Team leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Multiprocessing microarchitecture experience, including knowledge of AMBA bus protocols (APB, AHB, AXI).
  • Formal Verification testbench experience.
  • Experience with video codec, ISP, or display projects, including advanced image processing algorithms.
  • Experience in functional safety product development for automotive (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration flows.
