Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Stakeholder Engagement and Briefing Transformation Lead.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term post.
Salary
- National £45,000 per annum
- Cambridge £48,000 per annum
- Inner London £50,000 per annum
The location of this role is flexible in any of our offices, but we would expect some time based in the London office.

What you will be doing
This is an exciting moment to join Historic England, as we enter a new chapter under the leadership of our recently appointed CEO. In this pivotal role within the Chief Executive's Office, you will drive transformation by creating and leading the innovative Briefing Hub—an engine for strategic thinking and impactful engagement.
Your leadership will shape how Historic England communicates with clarity and influence, delivering a dynamic and coordinated approach to briefings and stakeholder engagement.
You'll have the opportunity to design and implement best-in-class processes for briefings and speechwriting—raising the quality of our messaging and strengthening our voice. By bringing teams together, you'll foster collaboration that inspires creativity, consistency, and purpose. Under your guidance, our engagement with stakeholders—from government representatives to leaders in the cultural sector—will be bold, effective, and unforgettable.
Who we are looking for
- Extensive experience of writing briefings, speeches and reports at Executive level
- Proven experience of managing complex projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement management skills, with both internal and external people
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate
- Demonstratable digital and analytical skills with the ability to process and evaluate data effectively
