Overview
Sterile Services Team Leader required at RSUH HSDU, with cover at the County site as required. The post is a fully flexible role with shift patterns that may change at short notice. The post holder will work on a 37.5-hour per week rota, predominantly Twilight shifts (14:00–22:00) with 1 in 3 Saturdays or Sundays. On call and Bank holiday working on rota as required. Pay scale: Band 4 with enhancement pay after 20:00 in line with Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide first line management support to the team dealing with staffing and production issues to ensure service needs are met.
- Assist the Production Coordinator with progression and monitoring of production to customers, ensuring procedures and quality standards are maintained in line with the quality management system.
- Support the team technically as required, gaining support from the Production Coordinators as needed.
- Contribute to the operation of the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit, including the cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation, packaging and delivery of surgical instruments to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
- Assist with the handling of heavy sets, manual handling tasks, and operation of equipment used in the processing cycle.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Fully qualified or experienced Technician across the range of duties within the Sterile Services environment.
- Flexibility with hours to provide cover across twilight shifts (2pm–10pm) to support service delivery.
- Ability to work on a rota basis, including weekend and bank holiday shifts, and to adapt to changes at short notice.
