Role purpose
Lead the Stores transformation plan and change projects/programmes from design to detailed scope to delivery. Manage all aspects including budget and resources to ensure an optimal end user experience. Collaborate with business stakeholders and other functions to deliver on time with payback forecasting, aiming to improve how we sell and serve in our stores. Support/partner with business functions delivering change into the stores environment to maximise customer and colleague service, profit, growth, and time to sell.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Store Transformation to define the scope of future store initiatives within the Store Plan to deliver 3-year targets.
- Develop and deliver propositions that optimise the store operating model and advise on product design to enhance experiences, drive sales and profit using technology and process/physical changes.
- Understand end-to-end customer and colleague journeys to enable joined-up strategic thinking across multiple channel designs, aligning initiatives for better design and lower cost.
- Own end-to-end transformation initiatives; lead proofs of concept and pilots, coordinating with sponsors on measures, KPIs and business case alignment.
- Drive adoption and enablement of future initiatives within BAU operations through clear communication and future requirements.
- Engage stakeholders to promote operational model design considerations to drive growth and efficiencies.
- Act as a SME for retail change not owned by stores, partnering the business owner to drive delivery scope in stores.
- Manage communications and engagement for initiatives, partnering with Communications SMEs to ensure effective cascading to the wider business and retail.
- Present recommended approaches to Business Owners/Decision Makers, outlining risks, mitigations, status, and end goals.
- Coach Stores Team members/leads in best practices for change across the Stores Plan to foster continuous improvement and transformational capability.
Requirements (You will need)
- In-depth knowledge and experience landing change in Retail.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across levels, including senior leaders, on complex programmes.
- Commercial understanding of wider business requirements and ability to translate opportunities into clear requirements and outcomes.
- Ability to produce data-driven recommendations and financial business cases to support investment decisions.
- Experience driving technical, people and process changes; ability to interpret data and requirements toward end goals.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills through relationships, data and insight.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo and use data-driven insights to influence decisions.
- High attention to detail and governance knowledge to ensure initiatives meet end goals and timelines.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Perseverance to meet deadlines and find creative solutions to obstacles.
- Experience using external trends/insights to improve customer journey or commercial performance.
