Strategic Commissioning Manager (Markets Team Manager) – Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council. Drive real change in the community by transforming health and social care through strategic commissioning led by the Public Health Team. Lead on the substance misuse and integrated healthy lifestyle commissioning portfolio, working across the two boroughs to improve health and wellbeing and address health inequalities.

Working style: based in the office for three days a week, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused services that offer value for money.

What Youind Doing

Lead on the substance misuse and integrated healthy lifestyle commissioning portfolio and work across various public health commissioning projects. Oversee strategic needs assessments to support needs-led decision-making and develop strategies to improve health and wellbeing through informed commissioning. Manage complex projects and champion new approaches to service delivery. Ensure services are co-produced, high-quality, and deliver tangible benefits to residents.

Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to ensure services are innovate, effective, and financially sound. Empower your team and partners to deliver services that make a real difference to residentsrom frontline to strategic levels.

What Youind You Bring

  • Strategic thinker with a strong track record in commissioning, negotiation, and leading change.
  • Understanding of the challenges facing health and social care and a commitment to improving and protecting residentsrom health inequalities.
  • Experience in commissioning substance misuse and behaviour change services is preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bring internal teams, external partners, and community organisations together to drive progress.
  • Committed to understanding population needs and using resident voice to shape local service provision with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and produce meaningful reports to inform local needs, service impact, and development areas.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and oversee commissioning to deliver on time and within budget.
