The Role
Our commitment to security, compliance, and risk management is foundational to the trust we build with our clients and partners. As we scale, we’re strengthening our Risk and Security team with a focus on robust governance and program execution. We work in an Agile environment, focusing on continuous improvement, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.
As the Strategic Operations Lead in the Risk and Security department, you will be the driving force behind the execution, coordination, and continuous improvement of our operational processes. You’ll ensure day-to-day activities run smoothly while aligning team outputs with strategic objectives, Agile delivery principles, and measurable performance indicators.
This role requires a high level of organizational awareness, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead and scale operational capabilities in a fast-moving, metrics-driven environment.
Opportunities
- Manage and evolve operational workflows across the Risk and Security function, ensuring effectiveness, consistency, and alignment with Agile best practices.
- Translate high-level objectives into actionable plans and ensure execution across teams.
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using the organization’s metrics library to monitor progress on adherence against Security & Risk controls.
- Partner with senior departmental stakeholders to improve metrics visibility, usage, and decision-making across the Company.
- Facilitate continuous feedback loops and use data to recommend process or resourcing changes.
- Act as a liaison between Risk and Security and other departments including Product, Legal, Compliance and Corporate IT.
- Ensure consistent communications, timely updates, and aligned priorities across cross-functional initiatives.
- Drive process improvement initiatives that reduce friction, enhance collaboration, and support strategic outcomes.
- Support leadership in resource allocation, capacity modelling, and workload balancing across the Risk and Security portfolio.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively remove blockers to delivery.
- Maintain operational documentation, playbooks, and process maps to support team onboarding and cross-functional transparency.
- Ensure audit-readiness and support security and compliance assessments as needed.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of operational or program management experience, ideally within security, risk, or compliance functions in the banking / financial services industry.
- Good understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and experience running Agile operations.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging a metrics library or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for performance tracking.
- Experience in SaaS or global software companies with complex regulatory or risk environments.
- Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe Agilist) or operational excellence (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
- Excellent ability to provide concise and well-structured PowerPoint status reports for Senior Management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Planner).
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and deliver outcomes in a remote-first or distributed environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data analysis and interpretation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate a hands-on / ‘can do’ attitude.
