Strategy Manager
New Today
Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names, a by-word for innovation, professionalism and community. During the course of a glittering history spanning three centuries, we have been shaped and guided by our aspirational motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum – nothing but the best is good enough. One of only three clubs to have been a founder member of both the Football League and Premier League, our Men’s Senior team has played more games in English football's top-flight than any other, winning nine league titles, five FA Cups and a European Cup Winners’ Cup. We are now in our state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium – a 52,888-capacity new home on the banks of Liverpool’s iconic River Mersey. We remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our Men’s, Women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and continue to compete at the highest level of the game.
About the opportunity: We are looking for a highly motivated Strategy Manager to join our Strategy department at one of the most exciting times in our Club's history.
Reporting directly to the Head of Club Strategy, this role will be at the heart of shaping and driving the Club’s long-term direction, where you will lead on a number of key initiatives, provide strategic insight and analysis, and support senior stakeholders in delivering projects that align with the Club’s overall ambitions.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, influence decision-making at the highest level, and help ensure the Club achieves its vision for growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Projects
- Working closely with Department Leads on a range of ad-hoc priority projects
- Drafting internal proposals and business models for pricing, new opportunities, or changes in product/market strategy
- Proactively identifying opportunities to drive revenue, efficiencies, and growth
- Providing strategic perspective and guidance at project working groups to ensure alignment with the Club’s overall strategy
Club Strategy
- Supporting the Director of Strategy in shaping the Club’s long-term direction through the development of the overall strategy
- Partnering with Department Leads to create departmental strategies that contribute to the achievement of the Club’s strategic objectives
Performance Reporting
- Leading on developing clear, compelling narratives for presentations to senior stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and relevance for internal and external use
- Preparing and delivering regular reports for the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
- Maintaining close communication with senior stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, appropriate, and aligned with the Club’s strategic goals
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll have proven experience and an effective approach to problem solving that contributes to the overall performance of an organisation, as well as strong strategic/analytical expertise with an understanding of the unique dynamics of the sports industry (governance, fan engagement, commercial growth, etc.).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives working across multiple projects, and has the confidence to support and influence senior stakeholders.
If you are passionate about being a part of something transformative and want to play a key role in shaping the future of Strategy in football, alongside an ambitious spirit suited to operating in a fast-paced environment, then we would love to hear from you!
This position is a permanent opportunity, working 35 hours per week with the closing date for this role being Wednesday 15th October 2025.
The location for this role will be between the Club’s iconic headquarters in the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool, with the opportunity to work flexibly with our Hybrid working approach.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a substantial amount of applications.
