They have over 1,200 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.They are recruiting for Structural Engineers at Engineer, Senior or Principal level, based at within any of their UK regions with hybrid working available.Working for a leading Design and Build contractor provides dynamic design opportunities. You can see your designs come to life in a short space of time which can be very rewarding, Working nationally, the variety of design challenges that come from a business covering 9 water frameworks, is ideal for someone who thrives on exciting projects.ResponsibilitiesYou will report directly to the Structures Lead and your role will provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. To ensure this the individual must co-ordinate the design and produce structural design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.Production of structural design calculations for all aspects of Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment plants, including both new build and modifications to existing plantsReview of structural content of construction drawings/modelsReview of subcontract design proposals Ensuring all work is considered for buildability, standardisation and DfMA, and for safety on site complying with CDM regulationsReinforced concrete and steelwork design to all relevant Eurocodes and British StandardsCo-ordination and liaison within a multi-discipline organisation including construction oversight and site supportWork to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the disciplineResource planning and responsibility for project delivery within budget and programmeCoordination of designs with other disciplines and use of resources both internal and externalProvide support to civil design staffProvide support to help develop junior staffEnsure designs take account of environmental issuesAssist in improving processes and proceduresWork collaboratively with the extended team in Pune, IndiaSkills, Qualifications & ExperienceStrong structural engineering design background, including technical detailing for Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment ProjectsA proven track record of structural engineering within the water with a desire to work in a design and build environmentGood knowledge of structural analysis and ability to use Microsoft Excel and design software such as StaadPro and Tekla TEDDSDegree qualified in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)Membership of a relevant professional institutionGood track record for the design of water retaining structures to construction standard using EurocodesGood working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.This role is office based but may require some travelling within the UK occasionally.DesirableChartered or nearing chartershipExperience of working for a global organisation.Experience of working with remote/dispersed teamsExperience in the Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry.Ability to embrace collaborative and innovative working.Knowledge of BIM procedures and techniquesWider experience of structural design across the construction industryExperience of outline and tender structural design #J-18808-Ljbffr
