The Student Outcomes Team, responsible for drawing together student voice, student surveys and key programme support initiatives into improving student retention and outcomes, is seeking to recruit a Student Progress Coordinator (12 months FTC – maternity cover).
Responsibilities
- The Student Progress Coordinator will work closely with the Student Progress Manager in developing and implementing processes to support a growing portfolio of student engagement initiatives.
- Assist with the establishment of processes to identify students at high risk of disengagement or dropping out, define criteria for risk assessment, and work collaboratively to address challenges within the university's influence that may hinder progress.
- Identify and contact students who need support and help to remove roadblocks so that they may continue their studies, taking a "test and learn" approach to engaging students at an individual and group level.
- Support the roll-out of new activities and the expansion of existing activities designed to enhance engagement, retention and completion, with a focus on improving student retention.
- Operate with innovation and adaptability to recognise that engagement strategies may differ across student groups, especially for distance-learning programmes (UoL Worldwide).
Qualifications / Requirements
- Experience in student engagement or retention initiatives and the ability to develop and implement processes to support students.
- Ability to identify at-risk students and work with relevant stakeholders to address barriers to progression.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, test-and-learn approach to engagement.
- Adaptability for distance-learning contexts and the ability to tailor approaches to different student groups.

- The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, but will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
