Background

City St George's is undertaking a significant piece of work in relation to its student systems. It currently operates two on-premise instances of SITS, provided by Tribal. An initial discovery phase will be undertaken to inform the development of a programme roadmap.

The programme is one of the university's "IT Big 6" due to its strategic nature and profile. It is expected to deliver outcomes across staff and student user bases, as well as from data, resiliency and infrastructure standpoints.

Responsibilities

The Student Records Technical Lead participates in the SRS Programme discovery phase, undertaking both project management and technical SITS tasks to support project planning, implement technical changes, and contribute to the strategic roadmap for the Student Records System.

This role is responsible for delivering projects that update the SITS academic model, review the current SITS implementation, identify potential improvements, and assess alternatives. The post holder provides guidance on the implications of proposed changes and offers subject matter expertise during discovery activities to help define the future direction of Student Record Systems.

Person Specification

The role requires extensive experience in analysing business requirements and converting them into technical changes for Student Records and Academic Models, preferably with Tribal SITS: Vision. Candidates should have a background in student records system development or implementation, along with expertise in creating roadmaps and strategies for SRS services. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and proficiency in producing documentation and project plans are essential. Experience working on major programmes and contributing to milestone achievement is also required.
