Overview

Supply Chain and Quality Manager role at Airbus. Location: Filton. 60% of your working week must be office based. Type: Full time. Security clearance: You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check). Travel: Some travel within the UK and internationally.

Role Purpose and Context

As a Supply Chain and Quality Manager you will form close working relationships with Airbus Engineering, Programme Management, Quality, FAL customers and sub-assembly fit-sites, as well as with our suppliers. Airbus Procurement Operations is a dynamic area focused on ensuring production and delivery of aircraft is maintained on time and to high quality. Our department (PIEL) manages approximately 50 suppliers worldwide, delivering landing gear, fuel & inerting systems, and some fuel equipment on the A400M. You will be accountable for the industrial maturity of a group of fuel system suppliers, enabling leadership, stakeholder management and product knowledge growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as focal point towards suppliers for operational activities and contract management, and as ambassador of the supplier toward internal functions.
  • Assess suppliers during the tendering phase and contribute to the selection decision.
  • Manage supply chain and quality aspects of the contract, accountable for On Time, On Quality (and on Cost when applicable) performance.
  • Manage supplier quality approval/authorization, ensure supplier certifications are compliant in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • English language at negotiation level; other languages are advantageous
  • Problem solving skills
  • Project and stakeholder management
  • Experience in engineering, procurement operations, manufacturing, production and quality backgrounds
  • Degree level qualification is desirable, but not essential
