Supply Chain & Logistics Consultant - Contract or Permanent

Our client is a leading distributor of mixed products to thousands of Retail Stores across the UK. The business is in the early stages of transformation with an opportunity to distribute more existing products and new, which has the potential to double their revenue.

In response to a bid with an existing client that they expect to be successful with, and to support additional growth elsewhere, they are looking for a Supply Chain and Logistics Consultant to assist them.

Supply Chain and Logistics is outsourced, and they work closely with two Partners with two warehouses. Part of the bid is to extricate 1 product type from an existing customer's warehouse and transfer to their partner warehouses to then distribute from there.

The warehouse and supply chain/logistics solution is already being used by this customer for other products so this will be adding a new product line. Our client therefore needs assistance to review the existing service, automate, optimise and set up to scale.

The SC and Logistics Consultant will therefore need to understand what our client's business is, what the end client requires and then work with the partners to review existing Supply Chain and Logistic processes, optimise and set up to scale. This will include designing the change in warehouse facility, reviewing and investing in high end tech solutions for sortation, bar codes, etc.

The role will need to be based in Cambridgeshire twice per week plus one day a week in each of Hemel Hempstead and Coventry where the warehouses and external partners are located.

Experience
Extensive experience within Supply Chain and Logistics consulting on optimising processes and procedures end-to-end
Designing and setting up efficient warehousing & transport for product distribution (mixed products ideal).
Good knowledge of tech solutions to assist with this such as Warehouse Management Solutions, sorting and so on.
Worked in Supply Chain for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) but the person and their overall experience is more important than the products being distributed.
Dynamic, numerate, commercial, innovative and consultative
Strong Project Management capability and Change Management

Requirements
Cambridgeshire/Midlands based to be in the office 2 days a week and at Warehouse facilities 2 days a week

This is an exciting time to join help scale their supply chain and logistic operations to support growth.
