Overall Purpose of the Role
As a key member of the Fundraising & Communication division, you will be responsible for leading the recruitment of new individual supporters across a range of fundraising products and from a wide variety of online and offline acquisition channels. The Marketing & Engagement team sits within the Fundraising & Communications Directorate, which raises funds and awareness among a variety of target audiences across the UK and other markets.
You will have demonstrable experience of planning and executing multi-channel campaigns to acquire new supporters or customers, as well as the insight and knowledge to shape broader fundraising strategies. You’ll be data and insight led, have outstanding communication skills, and be an excellent internal and external relationship manager.
This role includes direct & digital marketing planning and budgeting, campaign management, stakeholder and partner management, copywriting and creative oversight, and evaluation.

Location: London, UK (near Charing Cross). Hybrid/Flexible working – Tuesday and Thursday in the office
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Grade: Professional Level 3
Salary: £41,492 per annum
Overall purpose of the role
The Supporter Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading the recruitment of new individual supporters across a range of fundraising products and from a wide variety of online and offline acquisition channels. The Public Giving and Communications division sits within the Fundraising & Communications Directorate, which raises funds and awareness among a variety of target audiences across the UK and other markets.
The postholder will have demonstrable experience of planning and executing multi-channel campaigns to acquire new supporters or customers, as well as the insight and knowledge to shape broader fundraising strategies. You’ll be data and insight led, have outstanding communication skills, and be an excellent internal and external relationship manager.
This role includes direct & digital marketing planning and budgeting, campaign management, stakeholder and partner management, copywriting and creative oversight, and monitoring and evaluation. There are three key areas of responsibility for the role:
- Supporter Acquisition Planning: Developing & delivering a long-term multi-channel supporter acquisition strategy for Orbis UK which aligns with the wider Fundraising & Communications strategy to create growth. This will cover aspects of planning and budgeting including forecasting, KPI setting, media selection, agency recruitment and onboarding, campaign set-up and due diligence
- Campaign Management: Overseeing and briefing content as required for campaigns, training and engaging with fundraising staff, relationship managing multiple agencies and attending and ensuring high-quality communications, reviewing and reporting performance, undertaking analysis and optimisation
- Innovation in acquisition: Identifying new opportunities and methods to recruit supporters including product development, testing new digital channels and creatives, horizon scanning and collaborating with wider colleagues on integrated marketing opportunities and partnerships
