Join Our Team as a Veterinary Surgeon – Split Between Medivet Horncastle & Coningsby

Are you looking for variety, growth, and the chance to work with two fantastic teams? Medivet Horncastle and Medivet Coningsby have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join us.

This permanent role offers 40 hours across 4 days per week – 2 days at Horncastle and 2 days at Coningsby – giving you the perfect mix of a bustling multi-vet hub and a smaller, close-knit branch. Your weekend commitment will be 1 in 3 half weekends or 1 in 6 full weekends, based at Horncastle.

At Coningsby, you’ll join a welcoming single-vet practice with its own consult room, theatre, and prep area, supported by a loyal client base. Meanwhile, your time at Horncastle will place you within a talented, friendly team, benefiting from great facilities, diverse cases, and ample opportunities for professional development.

This is a fantastic role for a vet who wants the best of both worlds – a friendly small-branch feel with the backing and support of a larger practice.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.

Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.

Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.

Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.

Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.

Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.

Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.

Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.

Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.

Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.

Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.

Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.

Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
