System Architect – Financial Services Technology
Do you have the vision to design enterprise-scale systems and the expertise to bring them to life? Can you align technology strategy with business priorities to deliver high-value solutions? If so, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
About the Role
Our client, a leading global financial services institution, is seeking a System Architect to shape the design and direction of critical technology initiatives. Acting as a key member of the Architecture team, you will define and evolve system architecture, ensuring it aligns with enterprise strategy while enabling delivery of real business value. You will work closely with Product Management, DevOps, and engineering teams to maintain architectural consistency, foster built-in quality, and promote technical excellence across the Agile Release Train (ART).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the architectural vision, translating strategy into backlog epics, features, and stories for effective delivery.
- Align system architecture with enterprise priorities, ensuring solutions are technically feasible and contribute to the wider architectural capability.
- Support DevOps and CI/CD practices by designing continuous delivery pipelines and contributing to release governance.
- Define and maintain non-functional requirements (NFRs), ensuring they are embedded into system design and delivered effectively.
- Promote system design practices that emphasise quality, reusability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with sub-teams to validate architecture against implementation realities, refining design as required.
- Maintain architectural tools, documentation, and technical assets to support transparency and consistency.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, driving innovation to strengthen system architecture.
