Overview

Our client, a leading global organisation, is seeking a System Architect to define and deliver the shared technical vision for large-scale, enterprise-level systems as part of an ambitious digital transformation. Working with distributed teams across multiple regions, you will ensure systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals while enabling fast, reliable delivery of value.

The Role

As a System Architect, you\'ll provide technical leadership across agile release trains, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and senior stakeholders to design and evolve the architectural runway. You will promote engineering best practice, guide teams in delivering high-quality solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the architectural vision and roadmap across teams
  • Align business priorities with system design, ensuring delivery of real business value
  • Support DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, embedding automation and quality into delivery
  • Promote built-in quality, reusability, and effective management of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve system design through feedback and practical implementation
  • Provide guidance and mentorship, supporting skill development within engineering teams

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in technical architecture and solution delivery
  • Strong background in application development (front-end, back-end, or middleware)
  • Proven ability to work with large cross-functional, distributed teams
  • Hands-on experience in cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure or GCP also considered)
  • Familiarity with agile delivery models (SAFe experience desirable)
  • Exposure to diverse technology stacks and modern architectural principles

  • Experience defining and reviewing non-functional requirements
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies

Technical Skills

  • Enterprise systems development experience in languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C++
  • Cloud technologies: IaaS, PaaS, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud security
  • API and system integration: REST, GraphQL, messaging, data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of DevOps tooling (Git, pipelines, infrastructure-as-code)
  • Knowledge of design patterns (microservices, domain-driven design, composable architecture)
  • Awareness of software testing strategies and code management best practice

Desirable

  • Experience with micro-frontend architecture
  • Understanding of front-office or trader-facing applications (a plus, not required)
