About the role

Systems Insights & Solutions team seeking exceptional Systems Engineering Consultants with experience across sectors such as Defence and Security, Public Services, Transport, Energy and Utilities, and more. You will work in blended teams to turn complex, dynamic, and interconnected challenges into opportunity. Apply proven Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking techniques to break down problems that span organisations and disciplines (people, process, information, technology). Our approach integrates knowledge across systems engineering and systems thinking to deliver practical and innovative solutions for complex real-world strategic issues.

Responsibilities

  • Work in blended teams with specialists from PA to address complex, real-world problems.
  • Apply systems engineering and systems thinking techniques to analyse business needs and design solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of services including Decision & Planning Support, System of Systems & Enterprise Design, Complex Engineering Delivery, and Systems Analysis & Resilience.
  • Engage in projects that have tangible impact on everyday life, delivering game-changing solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to define and implement systems-based frameworks and governance models.
  • Utilise MBSE to articulate architecture and design where applicable and support organisational design methodologies for new ways of working.
  • Support defence, public services, transport, and other sectors with modern solutions aligned to client needs.

Recent project examples

  • Counter online crime through an enterprise spanning law enforcement, regulators, and social media firms.
  • Design and procurement of UK MOD’s future satellite communications services.
  • Facilitate international collaborations for next-generation fighter jets design and development.
  • Embed systems approaches to capability management and architecture for UK Defence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience applying Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking to resolve complex client challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply creative and abstract thinking to develop ingenious solutions.
  • Client-facing: able to engage, present to clients, and highlight recommendations and insights (verbal and written).
  • Experience working across an engineering enterprise at different stages of the systems engineering lifecycle.

Desirable attributes

  • Expertise in solution definition and design, identifying system boundaries, interdependencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with system of systems and modelling/architecture tooling.
  • Experience in process improvement and tailoring; comfortable collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently as the day-to-day client point of contact.
