Responsibilities

  • Hybrid working: in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week; time spent and location vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site.
  • Expectation to work from either a PA office and/or client location at least 3 days per week.
  • Travel to client sites will be necessary as required by the client.
  • Role can be based from Bristol, London (Victoria) or Manchester offices.

What you will do

Our Systems Insights & Solutions team is looking for exceptional Systems Engineering Consultants with experience across Defence and Security, Public Services, Transport, Energy and Utilities, and more. You will work in blended teams to turn complex, dynamic, and interconnected challenges into opportunity. You will apply proven Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking techniques to break down and solve problems spanning organisations and disciplines. You will contribute to developing practical and innovative systems for complex real-world strategic issues, alongside a diverse team of consultants.

Our Services include: Decision & Planning Support; System of Systems & Enterprise Design; Complex Engineering Delivery; and Systems Analysis & Resilience. Our approach combines knowledge of Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking to deliver tailored, innovative solutions that meet client needs. Recent projects include establishing an enterprise to counter online crime, designing UK MOD’s future satellite communications services, designing international collaborations for next-generation fighter jets, and embedding systems approaches to capability management for UK Defence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience applying Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking to resolve complex, societally meaningful client challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply creative and abstract thinking to develop ingenious solutions.
  • Client-facing experience with strong verbal and written communication, capable of presenting recommendations and insights.
  • Experience working across an engineering enterprise at different stages of the systems engineering lifecycle.

Desirable Attributes

  • Expertise in solution definition and design, system boundaries, interdependencies, and stakeholder identification.
  • Experience working on system of systems.
  • Experience using modelling and architecture tooling, frameworks and languages.
  • Experience in process improvement and tailoring.
  • Comfortable collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams; confident as the day-to-day client contact.
