Systems Test EngineerGlasgow - Hybrid

Are you interested in joining a strategic and transformative engineering team in Glasgow? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced DV Cleared Systems Test Engineer to work on ground-breaking solutions contributing to major UK defence programmes.

You will be vital to the creation and implementation of platforms used for real-time system modelling and simulation and will be an integral part of System Integration, Verification and Production testing.

Thales is a world-leading technology company in defence, aerospace and space, digital identity and security, and transport. Our Glasgow team is involved in Military vehicle sighting projects and a significant UK submarine multi-sensor contract.

About the role:

  • Design, develop and support the execution of Automated Test Solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency across the product portfolio.
  • Recommend and implement validation approaches, including developing more accurate solutions across test services.
  • Interface solutions with SW, HW and Firmware architectures by collaborating with product design teams.
  • Report, monitor and document test results; perform detailed functional measurements.
  • Provide on-site support to existing ATE at the Glasgow facility.

About You:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, integrated circuitry, PCB and algorithms
  • Ability to lead the development of solutions using project, technical and delegation experience
  • Appreciation for high engineering standards
  • Experience in Automated Modelling, Simulation or Test Methods

Desired Experience:

  • Electronic Engineering Degree or Relevant Discipline
  • Experience with LabView or similar applications
  • Prior experience with NI FPGA software and PXI-based equipment is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment (light sources, oscilloscopes, data acquisition boards, amplifiers, switches, etc.)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
