Job Description:

Our time is NOW.

ERM, the world's largest pure-play sustainability consultancy, is eager to connect with experienced EIA professionals at Senior, Managing, and Principal Consultant levels. This is not a current live job posting but an opportunity to establish connections, learn more about each other, and stay in touch for future opportunities.

These roles are within our Onshore Renewables & Infrastructure team, part of Capital Project Delivery, across England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland. If you are interested in future opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

In these roles, you will provide expert environmental consultancy services to clients and lead the work of less experienced team members. You will oversee environmental inputs for planning applications, including screening, scoping, environmental appraisals, and large-scale EIA projects, as well as post-planning condition discharge.

You will manage complex projects, including onshore wind, solar, battery storage, and grid connection, and occasionally collaborate with our marine team on offshore projects to develop your skills in that area.

You will navigate projects through licensing and consenting processes such as DCO and S36, offer strategic advice to clients, and ensure project delivery within schedule and budget. Building and maintaining client relationships, representing the company at meetings, conferences, and events are also key responsibilities.

We offer flexible working arrangements, including options to work from home, cross-border remote working, and travel opportunities. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, a 6% employer pension contribution, twice-yearly promotion opportunities, annual salary reviews, performance bonuses, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, EV car salary sacrifice, Cycle2Work scheme, travel season ticket loans, volunteering opportunities, wellness programs, and discounts on various services and products.

We foster a safety-first, diverse, and inclusive culture that values differences and supports social and environmental causes. Our career framework and global technical communities provide ample opportunities for professional growth. Learn more about us through our website and videos.

About you

To succeed in this role, you should hold a degree in an environmental discipline and have professional experience in consulting, regulatory, or development environments, aligned with our values and passion for renewables.

You should have managed EIAs for complex projects, experience with the consenting process, and be skilled in report writing (screening, scoping, technical reports, EIA chapters). Chartered status or working towards it (e.g., IEMA) is preferred.
