Overview

As a Team Lead – Backend, you will guide a team of backend engineers, designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high‑performance systems that support Axi’s technology ecosystem. You’ll be both a hands‑on developer and a mentor, leading by example, fostering clean coding practices, and aligning technical delivery with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and coaching.
• Serve as the technical expert for your team’s products, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate closely with Tech Leads, Product Managers, and Delivery Managers to define project scope and prioritize tasks.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives) and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Review and approve designs, PRs, and solution architectures, ensuring adherence to best practices, CI/CD, and coding standards.
• Support product development by analyzing business requirements and evaluating solution alternatives.
• Lead efforts to modernize and optimize backend systems, implementing automation, microservices, and cloud‑based solutions where appropriate.
• Drive test‑driven development, documentation, and release management practices.
• Stay updated with backend development trends and introduce process improvements.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands‑on backend development experience, ideally with C# and .NET.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in backend systems design, including microservices architecture.
• 2–3 years of mentoring and coaching junior developers within agile teams.
• Prior experience in a fast‑paced, product‑driven FinTech or technology‑led environment.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and clean coding principles.
• Expertise in microservices architecture, database design, and inter‑system messaging.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Terraform and IaC practices.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
• Proficient in SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
