Team / Directorate: Industry Regulation Team South Central / Operations

Starting salary: £45,367 rising to £50,877 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants)

Contract type: Permanent

Work pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (Part time, annualised hours, compressed hours or term time working considered - discussions at interview stage welcome)

The role

Ready to take the lead in protecting Wales' environment from industrial impacts? We're looking for a dynamic and driven leader to manage our Industry Regulation Team in South Central Wales.

In this high-impact role, you'll guide a team of expert officers regulating some of the most complex and high-risk industrial sites in the region. You'll have the opportunity to influence environmental performance across a diverse range of sectors-supporting innovation, ensuring compliance, and driving real change in how industry interacts with our natural world.

You'll manage and develop a team of 12, oversee site inspections, liaise with stakeholders from multinational companies to local communities, and contribute directly to reducing emissions and tackling climate change. This is your chance to combine technical expertise with strategic leadership-and help shape a greener future for Wales.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

Successful external applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. We aim to make offers of appointment within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
