To strengthen the technical services team who play a vital part in the success of the practice, we are looking for an Architectural professional with experience in project running or project delivery who is keen to share their technical expertise across the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Offering advice on building regulations, construction methods, technical standards and materials
- Supporting designers with specification writing and information management
- Undertaking research to encourage innovation within the design process
- Reviewing projects to maintain quality and technical excellence
- Delivering CPD sessions to enhance the technical knowledge of design teams
- Helping project leads manage their projects efficiently and effectively
- Implementing and maintaining quality assurance and risk management systems
- Assisting in the negotiation and agreement of project appointments and scopes of service
- Liaising with the professional indemnity insurer on both routine and complex matters
- Providing guidance on liability issues and managing professional negligence claims
- Coordinating the programme of CPD events and knowledge sharing within the practice
About You
We are seeking an individual with a solid understanding of the practical aspects of architectural design, detailing and specification. You will be approachable, confident in communicating technical information, and enthusiastic about sharing your knowledge in a positive and collaborative way. Your daily work will involve supporting designers and project leads with technical design and specification tasks. Instead, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical quality of a wide range of projects and contribute to the continual improvement of the practice.
Requirements
- Professional background in architecture, construction or a related field
- Strong understanding of building regulations, construction methods and materials
- Experience in project running or project delivery within an architectural or construction environment
- Proven ability to write and review technical specifications
- Excellent communication skills with confidence in advising and mentoring others
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and disciplines
- Familiarity with quality assurance and risk management processes
- Must be proficient in Revit
- Must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available
